Our Teachers

Holly Gracey

Holly has been involved in the immigration consulting profession for close to 30 years. She has a passion for teaching and has been an instructor with e-Academy since its inception in 2009. In addition, she has also taught at immigration consulting educational conferences at both a national and regional level. She has consistently proven her dedication to her chosen profession by holding several positions on key boards of directors and committees instrumental in the development and growth of the immigration consulting profession.

Holly is the Managing Director and Secretary of R.M.G. Consultants Ltd. She specializes in Canadian immigration applications for all federal and provincial economic classes with special emphasis on business classes, temporary classes (including visitor and student) and worker family classes specific to spouses and parents, as well as dependent and adopted children.

John P. Ryan, OSJ, KStG, CCIC, ICD.D, C.Dir, ASC, A.C.C.

John’s diversified background and teaching experience makes him a top-notch instructor at e-Academy. His career has spanned several professions, but his dedication to immigration consulting and the regulation of the profession has always been top of mind.

John has a thorough understanding of most areas of Canadian immigration, rendering his experience virtually unparalleled in the profession. He has been fortunate to enjoy a diversified career that includes international experience as a corporate director, a senior manager, a public servant and an entrepreneur. As a public servant, he also had the privilege of serving Canada as a Senior Immigration Officer, a Customs Inspector and a Commissioned Officer in the Armed Forces.

John has several areas of specialty including immigration, corporate governance, human resources and compensation.

Ni (Tina) Fang

Tina has been a successful immigration consultant for over eight years. She is an immigrant from China who recognized that the immigration consulting profession offers many advantages: travel, professional camaraderie, continuing professional development, exposure to different cultures, etc. Firm in her conviction that she had the power and talent to help herself and other people realize their dream of making Canada their home, she pursued her career with fervour. Capitalizing on her extensive background in finance, she joined the immigration consulting firm, Visa Seminars International Inc., and quickly emerged as the organization’s President. Tina is proud to say that she has helped hundreds of immigrants realize their dreams. Today, she is equally proud of her most recent contribution to immigration – teaching – as she has been an instructor with e-Academy for three years.

Tina successfully runs the immigration consulting practice while raising two young boys.

Ni (Tina) Fang

Nigel H. Thomson

Nigel’s real-world experience makes him an excellent e-Academy instructor. His career began when he joined the Department of Manpower and Immigration Foreign Service in the early 1970s. He served as an Immigration Visa Officer at Canadian visa offices in Glasgow, Scotland; Kingston, Jamaica; Port-of-Spain, Trinidad; New York, New York; Pretoria, South Africa; Hong Kong; and Seattle, Washington. In addition, he worked in Ottawa as Immigration Policy and Program Coordinator in the Department of External Affairs.

Deciding his experience and talent would best be used serving immigrants looking to make Canada their home, he started his own immigration consulting private practice, New Horizons, in 1992. In 1998, he joined the law firm of Vick, McPhee & Liu of Vancouver, B.C., as an immigration consultant, and continues to work there today. Nigel is a graduate of the University of Alberta and a Member of the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC), a Director of CSIC and a Fellow of the Canadian Migration Institute.

Nigel H. Thomson

Imran Qayyum, CCIC, FCMI, ICD.D, C.Dir, ASC, A.C.C., RCIC

Imran is the Chair of the Canadian Migration Institute (CMI), a Member of the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC) and a Fellow of CMI.

Imran has been a practising immigration consultant for over 21 years and specializes in family, skilled worker and business class immigration. He has been a strong advocate for the promotion and enhancement of the Immigration Consulting profession. He participates regularly in consultative meetings with Citizenship and Immigration Canada on matters involving immigration policy and operational procedures and has been invited on several occasions to appear as a witness in front of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration (CIMM) to give testimony on issues pertaining to Canada’s immigration system being examined by the Committee. In addition, Imran contributes regularly on immigration matters for Canadian media.

Throughout his career, Imran has been closely involved with the progression of the Canada’s Immigration Consulting profession and firmly believes that in order to provide competent service, all immigration professionals must undergo a formal education program of immigration studies in order to gain the core competencies needed to understand Canada’s complex immigration laws and policies. To that end, he teaches and mentors on a regular basis.
